Turkish poem – Orhan Veli Kanık

Anlatamıyorum.

Ağlasam sesimi duyar mısınız,
Mısralarımda;
Dokunabilir misiniz,
Göz yaşlarıma, ellerinizle?

Bilmezdim şarkıların bu kadar güzel,
Kelimelerinse kifayetsiz olduğunu
Bu derde düşmeden önce.

Bir yer var, biliyorum;
Her şeyi söylemek mümkün;
Epeyce yaklaşmışım, duyuyorum;
Anlatamıyorum.

I can’t explain

If ı cry, would you hear my voice,
In my verses;
Can you touch
My tears, with your hands?

I wouldn’t know songs were this beautiful,
And words were insufficient
Before ı get into this trouble.

I know, there is a place
Where it is possible to say everything
I got pretty close. I hear it ;
I can’t explain it.
